How to use the water pitcher filter date dials

How to use the date dials on your water pitcher filter The Filter Life Indicator — the pair of dials on the pitcher lid — is a simple reminder system that helps you track when your filter cartridge is due for replacement. Setting it correctly after each cartridge change means you'll always know when your water is being filtered by a fresh cartridge. What date should you set? Set the dials to a date 3–4 months in the future. This reflects the expected lifespan of the cartridge under typical household use. If you use the pitcher heavily — filling it multiple times a day or for a larger household — set the reminder closer to 3 months. For lighter use, 4 months is appropriate. Remember: the cartridge should also be replaced if you reach 80 gallons of filtered water before the date you've set. How to set the dials The Filter Life Indicator has two dials: one for the month and one for the day. - To set the month: roll the LEFT dial upwards until the correct month appears in the window. - To set the day: roll the RIGHT dial upwards until the correct day appears in the window. NOTE: the day dial doesn't show every date — it increments in steps of 2 to 3 days. Select the nearest available date to your target. The dials feel stiff or won't turn The dials are designed to be slightly stiff — this is intentional, and prevents them from being accidentally moved during everyday use or when cleaning the lid. The dials also only rotate in one direction (upwards), so if you've gone past the date you want, continue rolling all the way around rather than trying to reverse. If the dials are very difficult to move the first time — which can happen on new pitchers — apply a small drop of dish soap to the dial surface and work it in gently. This reduces friction and will make subsequent adjustments easier without affecting the mechanism.

How to Change the Water Filter Pitcher Cartridge

How to replace the water pitcher filter cartridge Replacing the filter cartridge in your aquabliss water pitcher is a straightforward process that takes around 15 minutes, including the soaking time. Follow the steps carefully — the soaking and flushing steps are important for making sure your water tastes clean and clear from the first use. How long do the XL cartridges last? Each XL filter cartridge is designed to last up to 80 gallons or 4 months — whichever comes first. Usage varies significantly between households. If you fill and filter the full pitcher multiple times a day, or use the pitcher as your primary drinking water source for several people, you may reach the 80-gallon limit before the 4-month mark. If you notice the filtration slowing down or a change in water taste before 4 months, it's likely time to replace the cartridge. Step-by-step: how to change the cartridge IMPORTANT: always use cool or room temperature water throughout this process. Hot water can damage the filter media inside the cartridge. 1. Wash your hands before handling the new cartridge. 2. Remove the new cartridge from its sealed packaging. 3. Fill the pitcher base with cool or room temperature water and place the cartridge upright in the water. Leave it to soak for 10 minutes. This activates the filter media and removes any residual carbon dust before the cartridge goes into use. 4. After soaking, remove the cartridge and rinse the top surface under running water for 10 seconds. 5. Press the cartridge firmly down into the tube at the base of the Reservoir unit until you feel it seat securely. A poor seal here can allow unfiltered water to bypass the cartridge. 6. Attach the Reservoir lid. 7. Fill the Reservoir with cool or room temperature water and allow all of it to filter through into the pitcher below. This first filtered water should be discarded. 8. Refill the Reservoir and allow it to filter through again. Discard this second batch as well. 9. The third batch of filtered water is ready to drink.
